Bandolim

Education
Portuguese traditional guitar. Bandolim is a stringed guitar musical instrument not shaped like a pear, allowing flat or straight backs. It gives a family two chords, with a double strand, that is, four pairs of chords and its tuning has the same shape as the violin: Sol, Ré, Lá, Mi.
Social and cultural aspects
Its shape is somewhat similar to a Portuguese guitar, but its case is narrower. It is very played in the north, where we can see it accompanying the Minho dances. It is an instrument of Italian origin that entered Portugal and because of it. The artisans who manufacture them in the Braga region say that the traditional ones are made of good wood and handcrafted, while those that are now sold on the market are smaller and made of pressed wood.
