Summary
The paper deals with the management of social innovation projects, according to the paradigm of Open Social Innovation. In particular, the authors focus on the GoogleGlass4Lis project, held at the Egyptian Museum of Turin. The main goal of this project, participated by both public and private entities, was to develop a technology solution to guarantee a satisfactory museum experience to deaf people. Texts on the museum’s collection were translated into Italian Sign Language (LIS). A virtual narrator, projected on the lenses of Google Glass devices, conducted a guided tour in the museum.
Innovative VR tools and techniques
• The paper deals with the use of Google Glass devices in order to design a museum guide for deaf people in Italian sign language, providing social inclusion in the museum environment
VR in education
• Google Glass are used to guarantee a satisfactory museum experience to deaf people, projecting on the lenses a virtual narrator who conducts a guided tour in Italian Sing Language (LIS)
